Goals for the trip are as follows:

  1. Be safe.
  2. Have fun.
  3. Make it to the top of Hex Mountain.
  4. Learn something.

Expectations for participants are as follows:

  1. Stay with the group.
  2. Be in good shape. This trip has a lot of elevation gain for a snowshoe. It is all uphill until it's all downhill.
  3. Have the necessary gear to be safe and comfortable and know how to use it.
  4. Participate in group discussions and decision-making regarding avalanche awareness, route selection and turn-around time.
  5. Voice any concerns about trail conditions, terrain choices and avalanche concerns.
  6. Be open to learning.

Style:

  1. I love puns and jokes and riddles and words.
  2. I am easily distracted by nature.
  3. I like a good workout but I also like to have a good time.
  4. I sometimes take a bit to respond because I'm mulling over my response. If I don't respond to you right away it's because I'm thinking about your question or comment.
  5. I'm curious about people, so I may ask you questions about yourself.
  6. I enjoy telling stories.
  7. My leadership style is flexible, usually, it's fairly relaxed. I'm also a big believer in servant leadership.
