Day Hike - West Tiger Mountain 1-2-3

Winter conditioning hike on Tiger Mountain. Start/end at Poo Poo point trailhead. Lollipop loop up to PPP, then Tiger 1-3, then back down.

  • Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,800 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph on average (faster on the downhill and flat, slightly less on steep uphill)

Poo Poo Point trailhead at 0730

Microspikes (or similar) are REQUIRED for safety reasons.

Winter hiking means snow, rain, sleet, hail, generally damp and cold, so be prepared. NO cotton allowed.  Microspikes required for all participants as a safety measure. Hike will go unless there is a major snowstorm that prevents us from reaching the trailhead safely.   Warning!  Possible Type 2 fun...

My goals for this trip are as follows:

1. Be safe.

2. Get some conditioning in.

Expectations for participants

1. Practice Leave No Trace principles.

2. Have the physical conditioning for this trip. There is plenty of up, some up and down and some down.  Expect about a 2.0 mph pace most of the time.

3. Bring microspikes and cold weather gear and clothing.

4. Be ok with possible inclement weather (rain, snow, cold, etc).
