We will walk south to the new Yesler Swamp boardwalk along the shoreline at the foot of Laurelhurst. We then walk north a short distance to the Burke-Gilman Trail and follow it to NE 65th, where we enter Magnuson Park. We walk the shoreline in Magnuson to the Mountaineers headquarters. After stopping there, we connect with the Burke-Gilman Trail again as it heads to Matthews Beach Park, continuing on the paved trail for another 5 miles until we reach our destination at Tracy Owen Station Park (Log Boom Park), 6100 NE 175th St, Kenmore. Bring a sack lunch. Bussing to and from hike strongly recommended: bus route 372 near Log Boom Park at N. Bothell Way & 61st Ave NE returns to University Village, which is a short walk from the UW Light Rail Station. Register with club headquarters. Doug Whalley (206-909-4044 (cell), doug@whalley.net), Julie Miller (206-283-1406, miller.jz@comcast.net), and Kathy Biever (206-283-9047, eskay39@comcast.net.)
We meet at 10:00 a.m. at the University Village Shopping Center (NE 45th & 27th Ave. NE, Seattle) at the Starbucks café inside the QFC Grocery located on the east side of the Village.
