Day Hike - Thorp Mountain Lookout
The goal of the hike is to see great scenery and some fall color. We'll be going up French Cabin Creek to gain Kachess Ridge and on to the lookout.

This will be an exploratory hike as I'm not sure I've been up this route previously. The trail starts on a closed road and is steep in the first 2 miles until reaching the ridge. Views on the ridge include some of the rocky spires of the French Cabin Mts. And you know what trails on ridges are like...up and down, etc. Once up at the lookout, we'll take a break, then head down the way we came. Both gaia and caltopo say the gain is close to 4,000' over 9.5mi but I think that's inflated. Let's go check it out!
