Day Hike - Swan Creek Canyon

  • Easy
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 5.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 600 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 to 2 mph

Meet at the Pioneer Way trailhead at 8:30 a.m
For the Pioneer Way parking and trailhead at the north end of the park, take exit 135 to State Route 167 (River Road). Veer right on Pioneer Way and continue to the trailhead just past some wooden fencing on your right.  If you hit Waller Road you just passed the parking lot.

I am excited to share this hidden gem with you. Who would have thought that an urban hiking gem is in our back yard.  This trip is for beginning hikers or folks who like the journey more than the destination.  It's a way to test winter gear.   It's for history buffs.  Well, it's for anyone who wants to get out and take a hike that won't take all day.

We hike at the pace of the slowest hiker and sometimes that's me.
