Day Hike - Squaxin Park

Join us on this Family Animal Adventure hike for younger kids and their grown ups. Our kid hike leaders will lead us through the forest, finding big animals, little animals, and some animal treats along the way. This will also be our first gathering of the season for families with young kids.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Casual
  • Mileage: 1.25

Meet at the Rose Garden shelter at 2:00 pm. (changed to 1:00)

Plan on being done by no later than 4:30.

Meet other Mountaineers families and family hike leaders on this first of season hike.

This easy hike through the forest will let kids choose their own way to encounter hidden (fake) animals and to find their afternoon special snack.  Veteran kid Mountaineers will help lead the way and read our simple kid maps.

Parents will have the opportunity to get oriented to how our family hiking program works and at the end can share ideas for future activities.

This hike is appropriate for kids 7 and under and infants or toddlers can be carried.  It is not stroller friendly.

Be sure that each adult or child coming on this hike is registered.

Please be on time as we will begin the hike shortly after gathering and will not wait for late comers.
