Meet at Tibbetts Valley Park & Ride at 7:30 a.m. We’ll assign passengers to 4 cars. Then we’ll proceed to the Rattlesnake Mountain trail parking lot (at Snoqualmie Point Park), drop 2 cars, then drive in the other 2 to Rattlesnake Lake trailhead. Drivers will need a Discover Pass.
This is a “semi” conditioning hike. I’ll be carrying a full backpacking pack. Please be prepared to do 1.75 mph up, and an overall pace of 2-2.5 mph. The hike starts somewhat steeply from Rattlesnake Lake trailhead, gaining 2,500’ in about 4 miles to our high point of Rattlesnake East Peak. Along the way we’ll take in views at one or more of the Rattlesnake Ledges. On our way down we’ll also stop at some of the other fabled viewpoints, including Grand Prospect and Stan’s Overlook. We’ll eat a brief lunch at one of these viewpoints.
I’m hoping we’ll have a good, friendly time and benefit our quads as well.
