Day Hike - Mount Walker

Double Walker - priority for 2022 Kitsap scramblers, May Peru trekkers. Others please don't request until March 15.

  • Moderate
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,800 ft

9 a.m. Trailhead. If the gate is not open, then the gate below TH.

This is primarily a conditioner for the 2022 Kitsap scramble students to test our conditioning and get to know one another.

For the first lap, we'll try for the Kitsap scramble requirement up and down in 3hrs with a 20lb pack. (So, 9am - noon.) If we can go faster, awesome, but no one will be left behind. This is for you to get a baseline on your conditioning.

For the 2nd lap, we can try to beat our Lap 1 time if everyone's up for it.

If people haven't done Walker yet and the views are good, we can do the extra mile round trip to the south summit and see the Puget Sound views on the 2nd lap. We should be done by 4pm, but please don't make plans for early evening.

Snowshoes, microspikes, poles - TBD.

This should be fun and cooperative; you're only competing with yourself.

Must be vaccinated and show proof of vaccine card. Carpooling encouraged.
