Day Hike - Mount Townsend

We'll park at the lower trailhead and hike 9.5 miles round trip and a bit over 3000' gain at a steady 2mph pace to the top of this view-rich peak!

We will meet at 8:30AM at the lower Townsend trailhead parking lot, google map location  Vaccinated participants are encouraged to carpool as trailhead parking is limited.

A pretty forest walk followed by a traverse to the top of a peak with 360-degree views over Hood Canal to Seattle and across the straits of Juan de Fuca.  Gaia route can be found at

We'll move at a steady pace with few rest breaks so participants need to request permission based on having done similar distance and gain recently at a 2mph pace.  Once on the trail we will stay together.  More details will be shared  as the date gets closer.

Leader will ask that all participants share their vaccination status, and those who are not vaccinated will be expected to mask up anytime that they come within 6 feet of others on the trail.
