Day Hike - Mount Rose

Conditioner open to OLYMPIA 2024 CLIMBING and SCRAMBLE STUDENTS. After Feb. 16th 7 pm, email me for permission if you are not a student. Please read ALL leader notes.

  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 5.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,500 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 4,300 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 - 2.0 mph, will vary

Trailhead early morning. Details will be emailed to participants.

Climbing and Scramble students are expected to carry the weight required by their respective courses on conditioning hikes. I will weigh packs at the trailhead. The goal is to reach the summit within 3 hours with occasional short stops. Micro-spikes are required and poles are strongly recommended. I do not anticipate enough snow to justify snowshoes. 

If you are NOT a Climbing or Scramble student, do not register until after 7 pm on Friday 2/16. If you would like to be assistant leader, please email me for permission.
