Day Hike - Lena Lake

Join me for an early winter hike up to Lena Lake before we get too much snow and ice. This hike is wonderful in any season but especially beautiful in the winter with the mosses and ferns.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,000 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 to 2.0 mph

We'll meet at the Lena Lake Trailhead Sunday morning.  National Forest or Park Pass Required.  More details to be sent to registered participants two to three days prior to the hike.

Prep for wet and cold weather and wet trails with waterproof boots and rain gear.  Given that this hike is in early winter and the chances of rain are quite high this time of year, we'll hike unless weather conditions are very uncomfortable or dangerous,  examples being snow or ice on the trail, heavy rain, and/or high winds in the forecast.  There is a good chance that we will be walking through a stream of water for part of the trail, so choose your footwear accordingly.  I will carry micro-spikes (as I do for every hike this time of year) but if I know in advance they are needed for this trail I will advise participants.  No cotton, and the Ten Essentials will be required.
