The Locks through Discovery Park hike is a cultural, natural and engineering treat. We start at the Locks, crossing as possible with the openings and closings to make our way over the train tracks into the Park. There is one stretch of hard-packed trail with public restrooms throughout. No, May is not prime fish viewing time but there are two sorta steep hills to navigate on good trail. This is a slight modification of D W Williams Trip #9 in Seattle Walks (2017, University of Washington Press). With stops, about 2.5 hours.
