Low tide is at 12:15 and is needed to walk out to the island.  Meeting time and place will be emailed to participants. Discover pass needed.

This this hike starts out with a short forest hike (1/2 mile) down to the beach. From there we hike a mile to the sand bar trail which is only visible and walkable during low tide.  We'll walk the sand bar trail out to McMicken Island, and spend time exploring the low tide.  Besides the usual wonder of a low tide, we usually see moon snails, moon snail collars, and geoduck necks and siphons here. Sturdy shoes are needed for the forest and beach walk, and also water shoes, sandals, or rubber boots for the low tide.
