  • Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 970 ft
  • Pace: 2-2.5 mph

Details of where/when to meet will be emailed to registered participants closer to the date of the hike.

Nothing can beat the feeling of being close to a volcano surrounded by wildflowers.  Ruby red paintbrush and purple lupine adorn shy Loowit. They say you get a 1 in 4 chance of seeing her completely without clouds covering her beauty. Fingers crossed we will get a sun-filled blue bird sky day with some nice higher up puffy white clouds for contrast.

Remember to lather up on sunscreen and have plenty of extra water - the sun at this location scorches and dehydrates hikers fairly easily this time of year.

Pace of  hiking will be a comfortable 2-2.5 mph to enjoy the sights and have plenty of opportunitites to take photos.
