Day Hike - Frog Mountain

A moderate and pretty hike to views.

  • Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,200 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 4,872 ft
  • Pace: 1.75 mph up / 2 mph on the way down

Meet at the Frog Lake TH, ready to hike by  9am.

There may be snow, so please wear sturdy waterproof boots and gaiters and bring trekking poles. The pace will be slow and steady on the way up, but not too slow. We will stay together as a group throughout the day. Hopefully, we will have views. Big rains and wind will cancel the trip. If weather allows, lunch will be leisurely to soak in the views and enjoy good conversation.

I will send an email with final details a few days before the trip.

Directions per WTA.org: Drive Highway 2 to the Beckler River Road turnoff. Drive 7.0 miles and arrive at an intersection. Continue straight (the left fork) to Forest Road 65 for 6.5 miles until you reach a wide intersection of forest roads. Take upper righthand road (about 2:00 when emerging from the Forest Road 65) to the trailhead and large parking area.
