Day Hike - Damon Point

Family hike to a sandy spit covered with drift wood and frequented by snowy owls, shorebirds, and seals! Check out the remains of a sunken ship! Hike or wander! Good for younger kids too. Can also explore nearby Oyhut Wildlife Area.

Meet at carpool location (to be announced) 9:30 am for the 1.5 hour drive to trailhead south of Ocean Shores. 

This trip is for families and priority will be given to adults accompanied by children.

Low tide is at 9:55 and access is easier during this time.

Binoculars and bird guide books will be available for kids and adults.

Families wishing to extend their trip can drive separately and visit Ocean Shores after the trip.

Trip will be cancelled with extreme weather but not in a drizzle.

Family Essentials

Children and adults must have backpacks with waist and/or cheststraps

Rain gear and wind protection a must.

Watertight boots for walking in wet sand.

Bring lunch and snack.

Consider bringing a tarp and rope to lash a temporary shelter for wind protection during lunch!

Good camera in case we see some cool birds.

Binoculars if you have them.
