Day Hike - Cedar Butte (Olallie State Park)

If weather permits, we should have great views of Mount Si, Little Si, Rattlesnake Ledge. We will eat lunch at the top. Part of the way back will be by a different route.

  • Easy
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 5.5 mi
  • High Point Elevation: 1,860 ft

For carpooling: Meet at 9am at the Auburn Park & Ride, 101 15th NE St, Auburn, WA 98002.  Everyone is encouraged to organize carpooling as we get closer to the hike date.

For meeting at the trailhead (a Discover Pass is required for each vehicle at the trailhead):  Head east on I-90 to Exit 32, 1 mile east of North Bend, and go south on 436th Avenue SE (which becomes Cedar Falls Road SE) for about 3 miles to the Iron Horse State Park parking lot and trailhead. Arrive at the trailhead 10-10:15 am to use the toilets, and begin gearing up.

Plan is to start the hike at 10:15-10:30 am.

Be sure to be prepared for cold and/or wet weather with rain gear, extra clothes, stocking hats/beanies, extra gloves, etc.

We could get a snack afterwards back in North Bend if participants are interested and schedules permit.  I think the hike should be finished by 1:30-2pm, depending on how long we linger at lunch.

The trip could be cancelled or moved if weather or trail conditions are unsafe on
the trip date, including snow/ice covering the trails or forecasts indicating a high chance of snow.
