Day Hike - Big Creek

Join us for a winter warming hike to Big Creek, just north of Lake Cushman in the Olympic National Forest.

  • Easy
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 4.3 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 850 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 1,850 ft

We will meet for carpooling at the Haagen's on the west side in Olympia at 7:30 AM. Haagen's 1313 Cooper Point Rd SW, Olympia, WA 98502

Now, this is my first leader lead hike so you should expect lots of bad jokes, team crunches to deal with the winter chill and a fun time. If the weather is good and the snowpack is low we will decide as a group if we want to power up to the lookout which is a short side trip adding approximately 1-2 miles to our day.

Please bring traction devices such as trekking poles and microspikes or YakTraks. You should expect snow or a small river flowing down the hill on this hike, so waterproof boots, and accessories are necessary. Don't forget your 10 essentials!
