The Tooth/South Face

Trip

Basic Rock Climb - The Tooth/South Face

A one day Basic Rock Climb with priority to Olympia Basic Climbing students until June 3, then open to all branches.

  • Basic Rock Climb, Strenuous 2, Technical 3
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 5.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,500 ft

0500 at the trailhead, with the goal of hiking out from the trailhead at 0530.

We will start early to take advantage of the daylight and hopefully beat the crowds. We may encounter snow on the approach. We won't hike particularly fast, but this will be an efficient trip on the way in, with a longer break on the summit to enjoy the view. We will climb as 2 teams of 2 and a team of 3. I will lead the team of 3 with 1 student on each of my half ropes.
