South Early Winter Spire/South Arête

Trip

Basic Rock Climb - South Early Winter Spire/South Arête

This is a GREAT first rock climb! Mentored climb for Andrea Turner. Waitlist priority given to basic alpine climbing students.

  • Basic Rock Climb, Strenuous 1, Technical 2
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,600 ft

We will meet at the Blue Lake trailhead at 7:00 am, with the goal of being on trail at 7:15.

Bring ice axe and crampons; aluminum crampons OK, and maybe preferred.

We will not move fast, but will focus on efficiency. Pack light and smart.

Leaders should bring a 60m rope; small rack to 2"; and a positive attitude!
