This climb traverses a big ice cap like other classics in the North Cascades, such as Eldorado Peak, but gets less attention than it deserves. The approach on day 1 is strenuous (like Eldorado), so planning for three days gives us time to reach the high camp and not feel rushed. Plus it offers side-trip options to scramble Colonial or Pinnacle Peak if we're feeling strong.
