Basic Glacier Climb - Snowfield Peak/Neve Glacier

Big glacier trek with spectacular views and fewer crowds than other peaks on the 4th of July weekend.

  • Sat, Jul 1, 2023 — Mon, Jul 3, 2023
  • Seattle Climbing

  • Basic Glacier Climb, Technical 2, Strenuous 4
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 16.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 7,500 ft

TBD

This climb traverses a big ice cap like other classics in the North Cascades, such as Eldorado Peak, but gets less attention than it deserves.  The approach on day 1 is strenuous (like Eldorado), so planning for three days gives us time to reach the high camp and not feel rushed.  Plus it offers side-trip options to scramble Colonial or Pinnacle Peak if we're feeling strong.
