  • Basic Alpine Climb, Strenuous 2, Technical 2
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 12.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 5,900 ft

To be arranged by the climbing team.

We will camp at the TH on Friday evening.

The forest road to the TH (Bedal Creek Approach) is recommended for high clearance only. A section of the road (200 yards or so) is fairly steep and loose. It can take an AWD car (eg. Honda CRV, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4/Highlander etc.) a few attempts to go through this section, with passengers leaving the car and all four wheels spinning.

For the reasons above, carpool will be arranged.

This will be a very strenuous one day trip. Sloan Trip Report for your reading: https://www.mountaineers.org/activities/trip-reports/basic-glacier-climb-sloan-peak-corkscrew-route-via-bedal-creek

Leader permission required in order to manage registration. Mentored lead for Ambrose Zhi, please direct all communication to him. Communication sent to Annora or submitted through the request form will be ignored. Leader permission is required. Registration priority is as follows:

  1. 5/1 - 5/7 - Priority to Annora SIG members/friends.
  2. 5/8 onward - I will add those who request leader permission and are well suited for the trip (conditioning, experience, expectations/goals, etc)

You must be prepared and fit for a long day with a lot of elevation gain and loss. We won't go crazy fast, but we will hike and climb efficiently. When you ask the leader for permission, please outline your fitness level and the relevant trips you've done this season.

Do not ask for permission until after May 1 and until you have passed all evals and the fitness test.

Rope leads, please contact Ambrose for permission any time.
