Basic Alpine Climb - South Early Winter Spire/South Arête

Kitsap basic climbing course students have priority until July 18.

  • Basic Rock Climb, Strenuous 1, Technical 2
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,600 ft

We will meet at the Blue Lake trailhead at 0530 the morning of August 18th.  Will take the summer route to the base of the climb and go from there.  Will be camping at the Lone Fir campground Friday and Saturday evenings if you care to share a tent site.  Very convenient car camping to save the zero-dark-early wakeup to get the the trailhead.

Pretty straightforward climb here.  Intended to be one of your required climbs to graduate from the basic climbing course.
