Basic Alpine Climb - Ruth Mountain & Icy Peak Traverse

This is a replacement of the Glacier Peak climb that has a road closure. Selective additions may be made for Kitsap Basic students still in need of a glacier climb.

  • Sat, Jul 1, 2017 — Sun, Jul 2, 2017
  • Kitsap Branch Climbing Program
  • Climbing
  • Basic Alpine
  • Adults
  • Basic Glacier Climb, Strenuous 3, Technical 2
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 16.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 6,500 ft

Will email final details to the group.  The general plan is to hike in on Saturday with a later morning start and summit Ruth on Sunday before returning to the vehicles.  Distance and elevation gain will vary from doing both Ruth and Icy.

As always, weather could affect the climb.  Scenery is really spectacular in this area.
