Backpack - East Baker Lake

ALUMNI BACKPACK. Let's test out our gear on this early season getaway to the thick forests on the shores of Baker Lake. We'll head in from the southern trailhead and camp in the Maple Grove camp area. Please note: spots on this trip are reserved for B3 or Tacoma Intro to Backpacking graduates for the first 3 weeks after registration opens. Leader Permission required.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 500 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 950 ft

We'll meet at 7am at the Ash Way Park and Ride in Lynnwood.

ALUMNI BACKPACK This backpack is on a moderate trail where we can stroll through the forest at a slower pace to Noisy Creek Camp. This is a trip for people who want to go slower - I am a photographer and enjoy stopping along the trial for photos. I expect we'll be hiking at about 1.5 miles an hour pace with plenty of breaks to help shake out the winter cobwebs. This will also be a good trip for students of the B3 course - your leader will love sharing her backpacking knowledge with you. Once we reach camp, we'll have time to explore the Baker Lake Trail further and just hang out at camp. Please note: spots on this trip are reserved for B3 or Tacoma Intro to Backpacking graduates for the first 3  weeks after registration opens. Leader Permission required.
