Backcountry Trail Run - West Tiger Mountain 1-2-3

Ultra distance (28.5) trail run to all 7 Summits of Tiger. There are technically only 6 peaks of Tiger, but we add in Poo Poo point because 7 just sounds more epic. We will hit the summits in the following order: Tiger 3, Tiger 2, Tiger 1, East Tiger, South Tiger, Middle Tiger, and finish on Poo Poo point.

  • Ultra
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 28.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 7,088 ft

Meet at 7:00 AM at the Cable Line Trail Head ready to run. After introductions and quick discussion, plan to start running by 7:10AM.

No Parking passes required if parking on street. If using the small lot a Discover Pass is required.  There are no bathrooms at the trailhead.

Directions: From I-90, a few miles east of Issaquah, take Exit 20 for High Point and turn south on 270th Ave SE. Just a few yards south of I-90, turn right onto SE 79th St and continue west. Cableline trailhead is 0.4 miles on the left.  You will see cars parked along the road.

This will be a moderate to slower pace run given the distance.  Fast hiking up hills and jogging at 10-15 min miles on the flats and downhills.

Please make sure you have done a minimum of an 20 mile run recently and something of 5000K elevation before attempting this. It will be a long and tiring day. It will take between 7-9 hours to complete this depending on group pace. The route includes some lesser traveled trails and some easier running logging roads.    There is no easy option to quit this run in the middle, so please be prepared.

There are several water sources along the way, and the leader will carry a filter.  I will personally take 2.5 liters of water for this run, but you should evaluate your own needs/requirements. You should carry a minimum of 300 calories per hour in gels, electrolytes, or other food for this run.

I have not test run this route, and I'm not aware that anyone has done it before.  I have run most of the trails on the route, so don't expect any major challenges, but be prepared that we may have to make navigational changes on the fly.

Will hit the peaks in the following order: Tiger 3, Tiger 2, Tiger 1, East Tiger, South Tiger, Middle Tiger, and Poo Poo Point. Exact route details can be seen in Strava Link below.  I'll provide a GPS track in the email before the trip.
