    • Northwest Forest Pass or equivalent required.  A 3-day entrance pass that covers day-use fees at various locations within the national monument is available; National Forest Day Pass, Interagency Annual Pass/America the Beautiful pass, and the annual Northwest Forest Pass are also accepted. More details here.

The trip plan is to run the Crater Rim Trail #3957 counterclockwise from the Paulina Lake day-use area, tagging Paulina Peak along the way.  On Sunday, July 14, there are easy hikes, lakes to swim in, and a hot springs to visit, plus Lava River Cave and the Big Obsidian Flow.
