This is an uphill clinic for backcountry skiing. This is oriented to newer tourers and we will be working on uphill technique. Things we plan to cover

  • Walking in balance
  • Using risers
  • Switchbacks
  • Edging
  • AVA/Kick turns

Participants must be comfortable descending blue or green runs in the dark. Headlamps required.

Priority goes to members of the Foothills Climbing Community. All others, do not request permission until 1/31

NOTE: This is not the equivalent of a Backcountry skiing course. We will not be going over any of the following
