Navaho Pass & Peak

Trip

Alpine Scramble - Three Brothers

A long, very strenuous but beautiful trip in Teanaway area. Expect a very long day. Leader permission required for conditioning. We may add Navaho or Freedom on our way back, depending on time and general feeling in the group.

  • Strenuous 5, Technical 2
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 11.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 5,000 ft
  • Pace: 1000-1200ft/hr on trail

TBD, but early :)

The pace of this trip will be climber-conversational. I am a climber, so my slow doesn't always mean slow, but I want to do this trip in my aerobic zone (which is somewhat not well developed and on the slower side). Expect pace 1000-1200ft/hr on a trail/established track (slower when breaking the trail / off trail of course) and breaks every hour or so. If you are looking for a fast paced trip and you still want to sign up for this one, please be aware you will asked to break trail and/or slow down.

Expect a very long day (10-12 hours) in the mountains so you need to have stamina and conditioning for it.

When requesting leader permission please mention:

1) What kind of 10+ miles, 4000+ ft trips have you done recently?

2) Have you done done recently a trip that took 8-10 hours? How did you feel by the end of it?

Please also be ready to participate in carrying group gear.

The trip will go only in good weather. We may or may not need snowshoes - the decision will be made closer to the date
