This trip is currently scheduled to be the Boundary Trail route however depending on road conditions of Goat Creek Rd, I may change the routing to go from Goat Creek to save 1,500 feet of elevation gain. Stay tuned!
I am sure that the lower elevation snow will be gone, but I am hoping that there will be enough snow above 5,000 feet to complete the snow scramble requirements for students.
I go at a moderate pace - around 1,000 ft/hr. Fast enough to keep the heart pumping, but not so fast that we can't talk to each other or take breaks as needed.
Open to all scramble students and graduates from all branches.
The scramble itself is exploratory but I was part of an attempt of Mt. Wow a few years back where we had to turn around around 4,800 feet due to time.
7:00 am outside of Whitaker's in Ashford
Other carpool options to be determined by participants and their locations.
