Alpine Scramble - Mount Watson

This is a snow scramble with a steep snow ascent near the summit. The route is mostly in an alpine setting with a lot of glaciated rock and snow travel.

Meeting place is at the trailhead no later than 7AM. There will be a short meeting at 7:15AM and leave at 7:30AM. Suggest participants, carpool. Leader is carpooling with assistant leader. Suggest getting to the trailhead the night before.

Will take frequent breaks. Expect students to do route finding and have discussions on route and conditions of travel and weather.

This is short route, but a large percentage is off trail. There will be a moderate to steep snow finger near the summit ridge. Expect some brush and a steep gully near the summit. When descending there will be a good glissade from the summit ridge.
