Alpine Scramble - Mount Deception
Our goal is to camp at Upper Royal Basin & scramble Deception & Mt Clark on consecutive days. Both in Smoot's Climbing Washington's Mountain book. Pls read leader's notes.

This scramble will be subject to weather conditions. The permit fee is $16.00/person for 2 nights at Royal Basin. Please research these peaks before requesting permission and be committed to going if you sign up.
You should be a competent scrambler, not too intimidated or bothered by loose rock, talus, steep slopes, some 4th class exposure and maybe mosquitoes at the campsite.
Be ready to help with navigation and route finding as this will be a team effort.
And of course safety and a good attitude is a must.
A bear canister will be required.
