CHANGE: meet at Dirty Harry's Balcony trailhead and carpoo to road 9020 where McC Butte trail crosses the road.
West Tinkham Road exit 42. Turn right at the stop sigh at the end of the ramp. Pass the DOT facility and continue 100 yards, turning right into the parking area.
Northwest Forest Pass Required
Scramble students will be given priority but given the short notice and mid-week date, we will fill any open spots to others. 9 miles round trip with 3700 ft gain, this is a strenuous hike to a short rock- scramble. Trip reports indicate there are a couple of snow crossings and snow near the summit, ice axes may be helpful, micro-spikes were not needed.
