Buell & Barrier Peaks

Alpine Scramble - Buell & Barrier Peaks

Lets try and knock out two Rainier 100 peaks as a start to the summer scramble season. This is a phase 2 trip.

  • Strenuous 3, Technical 3
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft

Initial meeting place will be the Safeway in Enumclaw  located at 152 Roosevelt Ave E, Enumclaw, WA 98022 by 6am.   From there we will head to Mt. Rainier national park.  Our start trail head will depend on the road status to White River campground.  If we end up parking in the National park each vehicle will need a valid pass(America the Beautiful, Mt. Rainier annual pass, or pay entry fee.)

Final trailhead location will be emailed to participants before the trip.

If parking appears to be an issue at either the Deer Creek trailhead or Owyhigh lakes trail head the backup plan is to go explore the Chinook pass area, Tahtlum peak is one possibility.

Participants should have been doing something to stay in shape during our extended Scramble vacation.  If you have not been staying physically active in some way please do not make this your first outing for the year.
