PHIL POWERS has participated in thirty personal expeditions to Alaska, South America, and Asia, including an ascent of K2 and new routes on Denali and in the Karakoram. At NOLS, he led over fifty expeditions, and later, as Chief Mountaineering Instructor, taught expedition planning.
