Basic Whitewater Packrafting Equivalency Test - Green River Yo-Yo Stretch

A one day outing giving participants an assessment opportunity to demonstrate skills equivalent to the Basic Whitewater Packrafting Course. Successful participants will be awarded the Basic Whitewater Packrafting badge.

  • Class II River
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 3.0 mi

Details to follow. We will meet at the takeout at 212th Ave SE bridge in Auburn. From there we will consolidate into the fewest number of vehicles and drive to the put in at Flaming Geyser Sate Park.

This is the one day equivalency test field trip.  On this day, you and everyone on the trip will swim multiple times so dress appropriately. A list of the specific skills can be found on the Seattle Packrafting Committee's Basic Whitewater Packrafting Equivalency course page. If you have any questions about our terminology please ask us to clarify in advance.

You must be registered for the Basic Whitewater Packrafting Equivalency course to participate in this equivalency field trip. If you have not done so already, please do so.

Although we will not cover much distance, we will be making several stops along the way to provide the opportunity to demonstrate the skills required to earn the badge. Expect it will take several hours.

If time, conditions, and desire allows, we may go to the Franklin Falls bridge afterwards and float the lower gorge, a class II+ reach.
