Walking the Wild: Together on the Camino Frances
Our Walking the Wild series features extraordinary adventures on foot in the wilds of the world by Mountaineers members. Come walk with Jonathan Hawkins and Ann Mecklenburg on the Camino Frances, a 500 mile/800km foot path and pilgrimage route from St. Jean Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela.

Backpackers' Pajama Party: Backpack 150 miles on and off trail through the Olympics backcountry
In August of 2021, David Burdick completed a 150-mile loop of the Olympic National Park hitting the highlights of the park via on-trail and off-trail routes over 12 days. This fifth Pajama Party event of the 2023 series features David's wonderful photos and trip beta to help you experience his route on your own, in pajamas or hiking boots. Adventure Speaker Series: Lauren Braden - 52 Ways to Nature: Washington By Season (New)
The presentation will highlight ways to get outdoors and experience nature in spring, summer, autumn and winter: from waterfall hikes to apple picking, from cross country skiing to digging for clams. Each of the 52 adventures in the book features a detailed “how to” section, places to go and try each activity, and a guided nature journal prompt so that you can record your connections to nature and make memories.

New Hike-Urban Walk-Backpack Leader Seminar
ZOOM SEMINAR WITH INTERACTIVE GROUP DISCUSSION! This 2.5 hour evening seminar is designed for experienced Mountaineers hikers, urban walkers or backpackers to provide information and practice in a 'safe space' to help you get certified and be successful as a hike, urban walk or backpack leader for the Mountaineers. This seminar is a pre-requisite (along with a mentor hike/backpack, appropriate navigation and first aid training/experience, and committee approval) to becoming an official hike or backpack leader for the club, and prospective leaders from any branch can get credit for this seminar toward their leader certification. IF YOU'VE ALREADY ATTENDED THE SEMINAR TO BECOME A HIKE LEADER YOU DON'T NEED TO TAKE IT AGAIN TO GO ON TO BECOME A BACKPACK LEADER UNLESS 3+ YEARS HAVE PASSED.
