Winter Scramble - Vesper Peak

Easy going up the gully to Headlee Pass

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • There were 4 streams to cross, but the water was low, so we could easily cross the steams. Snow started from the Wirtz Basin and there was a pretty well-established trail to the gully.  There were well packed flat and not so steep switchbacks in the gully to the Headlee Pass.  It was very easy to get up to the Pass, not even sweating.   I have never been this comfortable and relaxing going up this gully to the Headlee Pass and going down was also easy. We only needed microspikes.  There were very good boot paths all the way to the Summit.

Gorgeous day to be there and beautiful views!
