Trip Report

Winter Scramble - Roughhouse Mountain

We found dry weather, sunny even, in a loop trip near Blewett Pass.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Starting at 3,100' and the head of the old Blewett Pass road we found adequate snow for the trip.  But even just a little lower snow is getting very thin.  Except right at Snowqualmie Pass the roadside by I-90 was snow free on both sides of the pass.

Parking at the head of the old Blewett Pass road we ascended upslope to Pt 4675, followed the ridgeline down to old Blewett Pass, then ascended to the 4,760' closed contour  about a kilometer north of the pass (aka Roughhouse Mountain), and made a loop return by decending the slpes to the east of the stream flowing south from old Blewett Pass.
