Trip Report

Winter Scramble - Pratt Mountain (winter)

Knowing that a major winter storm was approaching, we chose Pratt because most of the route is protected from winds by trees, it has low avalanche risk, and it is on the west side of the pass in case the pass closes due to snow and ice on the roadway.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail was well trod all the way to Ollalie Lake. We broke off from the trail shortly before Ollalie Lake and broke trail as far as we could. High winds forced us to abandon the effort about 200 vertical feet below the summit.

A fun time was had by all.
