Road was fine but lots of potholes. Trail was snow free until the summit block of Buckhorn. Some ice on the trail which turned to mud with the rain.
Left the trailhead at 9:30am and hiked to Camp Mystery and made camp, then climbed up to the summit of Buckhorn in the wind, rain, and fog. Made it back to camp at 3 pm and rested then went back up to Marmot Pass for the "sunset." Made dinner in the dark and prepared for the night. Very high winds up higher but not too bad in the trees. Rained hard most of the night but stopped in morning, fortunately. Ran back up to Buckhorn to catch some views then back to the car around noon. Fun trip but was thinking there would much more snow.
