Winter Scramble - Icicle Ridge (winter)

Sunny but windy attempt of Icicle Ridge.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Trail covered in snow from the parking lot but very easy to follow the first 1,500 ft. We brought microspikes / crampons  but there was no need for them. Snowshoes were needed starting ~2,500 ft.

Party of 7 decided to run away from grey, rainy Seattle and find some Sun in Leavenworth area. Weather  didn't disappoint,  except the 40+ mph wind gusts knocking us over  at ~ 4,3000 ft and forcing us to turn around.  Great day out, wrapped up with an early dinner at South.
