Trail was easy to follow. We put on microspikes about an hour in, when we encountered the first patch of ice, and they were useful today. Snow was well compacted; basically a hike in these low-snow conditions.
A gorgeous day out with a great group. We started hiking around 8am, enjoyed a chilly lunch in the sun on the summit, and were back at the cars at 1:15pm. Fantastic views all around, and magical sparkling icy trees on the final ascent.
We brought ice axes but never even considered taking them out. The waterfall gully was a non-issue and I had to ask somebody to even point it out to me.
Lots of people out today, so were glad to get an early start and avoid some of the crowds.
