Trip Report
Unicorn Peak/South Side
- Mon, Jun 16, 2014
- Unicorn, Foss, Boundary & Stevens Peaks
- Climbing
Pretty much every weather type was seen today: Rain, snow, sun, sleet, cold, wind. It was "sporting" but the students were strong and capable. Snow is melting fast but climb is still in good shape. RT time was 8 hours with 10 climbers. After a slow start at the summit block we dropped a rope down the 5.6 "traditional" climb and the 5.0 climb off to the side. This gave the students a choice and got the students to the summit much faster. Moat was easily stepped over but is much wider than from a few weeks ago. The bench is exposed, muddy and wet. We stuck to the trail as much as possible.
