Thunder Creek–Fourth of July Pass

6.6.15 CHS 2 Hike - Snow free trail, no blow downs. No view from the "Pass" and no marker to designate the Pass. Post-hike, Rangers stated it was one of the two small footbridges east of Panther Potholes. Best lunch spot is at the Fourth of July Camp. Identified many mountains with map and compass (old school). East of Camp is a balcony overlooking Panther Potholes. Potholes collect early season melt-off then dries up in late season, not stream feed. Ranger stated over 200 glaciers feed Thunder Creek and told us why the river is an opaque emerald green. Caution - River is very cold and straight from glaciers. Next time would do the trail as a key-exchange between Colonial Creek and Panther Creek.
