Seattle Pathfinders & Nomads Backpacking - Pete & Spectacle Lakes

This was a mentored backpack trip for Ryan to Pete Lake. In all 2 families joined along with a dog. It was a first overnight for one of the youth and the dog. After some discussion about the smoke risk, it was decided to move forward with the trip, which was quite lovely. If people go to Pete Lake in the future, it would behove them to seek campsite further north toward where Lehman Creek feeds into Pete Lake. We had a lovely time exploring, seeing snakes, tryout our hand at some fishing and camping.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Roads were all passible to the trailhead.  We got to the parking lot at 8:15 on a Saturday and found parking for 2 vehicles easy to attain.  The trail itself was busyish, some day hikers, some hunters on horseback, and others headed to destinations beyond Pete Lake, like Spectacle Lakes.  We encounter some yellowjackets at the first campsite we came upon so decided to push further north to explore other options for our camp and found a great site where Lehman Lake feeds into Pete Lake.
