Great weather, calm water, no currents to speak of - wind was nominal (and great for the regatta that was going on).

Remember to arrive early (not much later than 9am). The parking lots get extremely full later in the day, especially on the weekends. Golden Gardens is a busy place - can be difficult for unloading/loading kayaks.
Great instructor - great people - sunny, calm day. Only about 8km down towards the Magnolia Bluff.
