Pinnacle Peak & The Castle (winter)

Fabulous weather for a snowshoe to Castle Bump and the true Castle-Pinnacle saddle. Parking lot at Narada was already getting full when we arrived at 9:30. We climbed the directissimo route up to the road and around to Reflection Lakes. From there, there was generally clear tracks already to get up to the upper basin, and then up to the Bump east of the true Castle summit. After a leisurely lunch in the sun, we elected to go around Castle to the true C-P saddle. On route, we did see some evidence of sloughing snow off the steeper portions of both Castle and Pinnacle, so chose routes keeping away from some steeper slopes. As well as choosing routes away from some other snowshoers out there (not Mountaineers) who were exhibiting much in the way of safe travel skills, alas... Great day and super fun group.
