Paradise Area (winter)

The Longmire gate was slow to open, so we did a brief snowshoe on the Kautz Creek trail (trailhead to the river, and return). then back up to Longmire to find gate open. drove up to Paradise OK. Cloudy all day except toward the end (3:00 PM), but no rain, snow and light wind conditions. Wanted to go up Alta Vista from the east side coming out of Edith Basin, but Rovers indicated that due to 'avalanche danger' they were not allowing people to climb this route. There were no evidence of previous people going up, so we followed the requests. Plenty of snow, and an enjoyable time by all.
