Paradise Area (winter)

Great day! Lots of soft, fresh snow excellent for snowshoeing. Blue sky until around 11, then the clouds began to form with the next storm coming in. No precip, slight breezes, comfortable temps felt like mid forties. Snowshoed to Alta Vista, then half my group went up to Panorama Pt. with me, the other half went to Glacier Vista with asst. leader. Descended via Alta Vista nose - very soft, steep, slick snow. Panorama Point standard route had very soft snow, but turned to solid blue bumpy ice about 40 ft. from the top. Rock field partially covered with hard ice at very top. Crampons would have been better up there. All made it up and down without problems. Excellent trip.
